Staff Attorney

The Federal Home Loan Bank of Indianapolis, with assets of over $56 billion, is a leading provider of wholesale funding for housing and community development to financial institutions in Indiana and Michigan. Our bank’s legal department is currently seeking an attorney to help meet the challenges of a highly competitive and dynamic market.

This position will prepare Board agendas and minutes for the Board of Director’s meetings, and provide legal advice on banking regulations, SEC compliance, and Board governance. You will report to the Bank’s General Counsel.

An ideal candidate will possess a Juris Doctor from an ABA-accredited law school and three years’ experience as in-house counsel to a financial institution or publicly traded company, or as an associate in a law firm handling business matters. An undergraduate business degree, MBA or CPA is a plus. You must also demonstrate exceptional writing, analytical, and interpersonal skills, and meet the Indiana Bar admission requirements.

                                  


Capital Markets Analyst

This position will be responsible for the operations within the capital markets department which includes support of the debt issuance, investment, and derivative processes. It will also involve financial analysis using state of the art models and requires a B.S. with knowledge of finance. Candidate should have excellent analytical and communication skills and expertise in Microsoft products such as Excel, PowerPoint, and Access.

                                  


Asset/Liability Analyst II

You will be responsible for providing financial, analytical, statistical, and mathematical information to support the asset/liability model.  You will participate in the processing of the Bank’s asset/liability model; perform various activities related to risk management, and financial forecasting.  Candidates should be able to understand risk measurement concepts and terminologies. Position requires a master’s degree in accounting, finance, business, economics, or any other related field.  You must demonstrate strong analytical abilities, excellent communication skills, be detail-oriented and willing to work with software applications.

                                  


Mortgage Investments/Capital Markets

The Bank seeks an individual to direct the capital market activities of the Bank. These responsibilities include direction of the Bank’s mortgage-backed security portfolio with focus on investment acquisition, funding and hedging activities. Other duties may include financial analysis with a focus on capital and balance sheet management.  This individual will make recommendations and decisions related to Bank profitability. These activities will be conducted given established risk tolerances. 

The ideal candidate will possess the following attributes:

  • Minimum 5 years' experience with mortgage-backed security portfolios, or related mortgage experience.
  • Master's degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, or Management.  CFA or CPA desirable.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Detail-oriented with a high level of problem-solving ability.
  •                                     


    Director, SEC Reporting & Accounting Policy

    You will support the Bank’s SEC filing process and other requirements under Sarbanes-Oxley. The successful candidate will be responsible for drafting sections of the 10K and 10Q with principal responsibility in the area of financial statement and footnote preparation. You will assist the chairman of the Disclosure committee with related responsibilities, including the development and maintenance of disclosure controls and procedures. You will assure that all SOX 404 documentation remains current and maintain knowledge of relevant SEC regulations and standards. Additionally, you will be responsible for writing, updating, and maintaining accounting policies.

    The ideal candidate should a minimum of seven years’ experience in a public company environment, have excellent written communication skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with a wide array of individuals. CPA required, MBA or CFA preferred.
