We Value You

The Federal Home Loan Bank of Indianapolis is committed to diversity and inclusion at all levels of the bank, from the employees we hire and promote, to the programs, institutions, and businesses we support.

Team members enjoying laughs and coffeeWe strive to attract and maintain a diverse workforce, and we value the individual skills, talents, ideas, viewpoints, and experiences that help us all gain a broader perspective on our industry and our world. We build relationships with businesses that reflect the diversity of the communities we serve because we know from experience this contributes to fostering healthy, dynamic communities.

In 2016, we established an Office of Minority and Women Inclusion (OMWI) Council to look closer at specific diversity needs and goals and create a strategic plan for FHLBI to focus on recruitment and hiring, internal management, vendor management, and more. The Council is made up of a cross section of employees representing all departments.

Accommodations for People with Disabilities

FHLBI does not discriminate on the basis of disability, therefore we attempt to reasonably accommodate any known disabilities of an employee or an applicant for employment when such a request is made known. Contact Human Resources with any requests for accommodation.

Equal Opportunity Complaint Procedure

FHLBI’s process provides for an immediate, thorough, and objective investigation of any claim of harassment or discrimination. Appropriate disciplinary action will be taken against any employee found to have engaged in harassment or discrimination.

Any employee who believes that he/she has been harassed, discriminated against, or retaliated against on the job, or who is aware of such conduct toward others, should provide a written or verbal complaint to his/her manager/supervisor, the Chief Internal Audit Officer, one of the Ethics Officers, or anonymously through Ethics Point.

An applicant or contractor who believes he/she has been harassed, discriminated against, or retaliated against, or who is aware of such conduct toward others, should report the incident to the Office of Minority and Women Inclusion. A written complaint can be sent to the following email: OMWI@fhlbi.com. The complaint should be as detailed as possible, including the names of the individuals involved, the names of any witnesses, direct quotations when language is relevant, or any documented evidence.

The bank will immediately begin an investigation of all allegations of discrimination and/or retaliation. To the extent possible, all complaints will be kept confidential.

The bank strictly prohibits retaliation or reprisal for reporting alleged discrimination or retaliation, or for providing information or cooperating in any investigation of alleged discrimination or retaliation. Retaliation is itself a violation of this policy. Any persons engaged in such reprisal or retaliation will be subject to disciplinary action.
