Today the Federal Home Loan Bank of Indianapolis announced it will open its Disaster Relief Program in response to state and federal disaster declarations following multiple severe weather events across Indiana earlier this year. FHLBank Indianapolis’ Disaster Relief Program assists with recovery efforts related to severe storms that occurred from March 30 to April 9 and from May 15-16, and flooding that occurred on June 30.

Disaster Relief Program funds can assist with the cost of necessary severe weather-related repairs and rehabilitation for the primary residence of qualified homeowners in the impacted counties. Program funds help cover costs not otherwise paid for by insurance or state or federal relief.

The program is administered through member financial institutions of FHLBank Indianapolis, and households must partner with a participating member institution to receive program funds. Member financial institutions may access up to the $25,000 per-member cap for grants of up to $10,000 per household to help fund covered repairs.
