Disaster Relief Program

Through the Disaster Relief Program, FHLBank Indianapolis members can assist homeowners affected by natural disasters in Indiana and Michigan by providing funds for qualified repairs. 


The Disaster Relief Program is available for members serving Indiana counties.

Following the state and federal disaster declarations affecting the state of Indiana, the Disaster Relief Program has been opened for member financial institutions serving Indiana counties.

Please note: FHLBank Indianapolis does not work directly with households. If you are a homeowner who would like to apply for Disaster Relief assistance, see below for a list of participating members.

How do members use the Disaster Relief Program?

The Disaster Relief Program is available to FHLBank Indianapolis members who submit the required registration documents once the program has been opened in response to a state or federally declared disaster within the Bank's district. See guidelines and application documents below for more information.

How do homeowners access Disaster Relief Program funds?

FHLBank Indianapolis does not work directly with households. To inquire about Disaster Relief Program funds, you must reach out to a participating member financial institution. Please view the Member Directory for a complete list of all member financial institutions. 

Who qualifies for the Disaster Relief Program?

To be eligible for Disaster Relief funds, a household must:

  • Reside in a county or municipality with a declared state or federal disaster or emergency status;
  • Have a total household income less than or equal to 100% of the median family income, as published by the Department of Housing and Urban Development; and
  • Use the funds for qualified repairs or purchases.
